Slate Ranks Baltimore Drivers 5th Worst in the USA

In a fairly unscientific meta-analysis, Slate this week ranks Baltimore drivers as the 5th worst in the United States. Take a gander:

No. 5: Baltimore. Baltimoreans just can’t keep from running into each other. They were outside the top 10 in fatalities, DWI deaths, and pedestrian strikes, but their rate of collision couldn’t keep them out of the top five overall.

Join Race Pace for Bikemore Member's Day

Race Pace Federal Hill A big perk of becoming a Bikemore member is the discounts our members receive at places across the city, such as local bike shops and the Orioles. The latest shop to offer a discount is Race Pace Federal Hill.

Race Pace has been generous enough to offer an official Bikemore Member's Day next Saturday, July 27. If you make a purchase and present your Bikemore membership card, you will receive 20% off your entire purchase. There are a few exceptions -- complete bikes, labor and items already on sale. For everything else, though, this a great opportunity to stock up on summer gear or prepare for the fall.

Personally, I might try to swoop some lightwear jerseys to help me cope with this sweltering heat wave, but that's just me.

If you're not already, become a Bikemore member today, and remember, the sale above could offset your membership cost by quite a bit.

Here's the 411 on the July Bike Party

Baltimore Bike Party Moonlight Madness For July, the Baltimore Bike Party folks want you to get lit up! Fit as many lights as you can on your bike and your person and make Baltimore shine. Here's the word, straight from the Facebook event:

Moonlight Madness was originally an annual ride started by Bob Moore, who was instrumental in bring trails, bike lanes, and safe legislation to Baltimore. Sadly, Bob has passed but with help of Baltimore Bicycle Club and Bike Party's adoption, the ride has lived on and is bigger than ever!

Spread smiles, cheers, laughs, and high fives, just the way it should be, as we ride through the streets of our awesome city and finish in Wyman Park Dell for another great after party! Expect food trucks, Heavy Seas ales, DJ Ro, and maybe some other surprises!

Mark your calendar for Friday, July 26, and make sure you RSVP on Facebook.
