Introducing Baltimore Cycling 101

Photo Credit: Liam Quigley Cross posted from Bikemore's new, Baltimore Cycling 101 section:

There are a lot of skills that are nearly essential for cyclists riding in the city. Selecting the right bike lights, properly locking your bike so it isn’t stolen, and having the confidence to ride in traffic are just a few. Bikemore is working on putting together how to guides bringing to light many of these skills. Our library is currently small, but it will grow over time.

Our first entry is all about wearing cycling clothes fit for the city that won't make you look like a spandex devotee. Check out the first entry, titled "High-Performance,Everyday Cycling Clothes," now.

Opening Day: Bike to the Yard!

Orioles Bike Parking Heading to the Orioles' home opener? Beat the traffic and bike to the Yard!

These bike racks were installed yesterday, compliments of the Orioles! This corral will accommodate 100 bikes. It will also be supervised during Orioles home games (although the O's and MSA encourage you to secure your vehicles).

This corral, just outside Gate C on Maryland Square (facing Russell Street), can be accessed via Lee Street or the breezeway in the Warehouse near the Veterans Memorial.

You will also find bicycle racks near the Babe Ruth Statue at the north end of the Warehouse, in front of Dempsey's Brew Pub, on the east side of the Warehouse, and at the Camden Yards MARC station.

Unfettered by the brutal combination of cold weather and rain, our partners at the Baltimore Bike Party took to the streets on Friday to honor our Super Bowl champion Ravens.  The Party rode through various neighborhoods throughout Baltimore before finally ending at its Little Havana after party. Many of our own Board members were in attendance, so make sure you check out some photos below and check out all of photos over on Facebook.
