Transit Safety & Investment Act (HB 114 / SB 199). Both organizations are pushing for the passage of this bill, which would mandate increased funding for the MTA. The Transit Safety & Investment Act would mandate increased state funding for the Maryland Transit Administration, which operates our bus, rail, and subway services in the state. Right now the MTA is nearly $2 billion budget shortfall to maintain a state of good repair. This bill would help with meeting the capital needs to operate the MTA safely and reliably.
