Join us on Wednesday April 22 at 7 PM for the continuing conversation in our Virtual Town Hall series on Public Transportation: From Pandemic and Beyond.
Since our last town hall, public transportation services continue to be cut to accommodate the drop in ridership. Unfortunately, there remains little transparency from MDOT and MTA about how these decisions surrounding cuts are being determined.
In this 2nd town hall, we will continue our conversation about the current state of public transportation during the pandemic and also consider actionable ways to improve service as we move beyond the pandemic. Questions will include: Is the method MDOT and MTA use to decide which services need to be cut transparent? What should public transportation look like post-pandemic? How would a regional transportation authority assist in building more equitable public transportation service?
Again, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! This Virtual Town Hall will provide a forum for you, transit riders and operators, in an effort to improve mass public transportation now and into the future. The voices of transit riders and operators MUST be heard and all MUST be protected!
This town hall is part of a series of conversations. Suggested future town halls can explore the relationship between public transportation and equity, climate change and economic development.
Hosted in partnership with Baltimore Transit Equity Coalition, CMTA, Sierra Club Maryland Chapter, ATU Local 1300, and Bikemore.
