Bring the whole family to find out more about the Lake to Lake Project occurring in Baltimore City and Enjoy a Bike ride with BPRB.

Community Information Session

This ride and community information session will highlight the Lake to Lake Project, a community partnership with BCDOT (Baltimore City Department of Transportation), Graham Projects, Bikemore, and Black People Ride Bikes (BPRB). This Project is grant-funded through The National Association of City Transportation Officials. This grant emphasizes partnership with local stakeholders to support community engagement efforts and improve Baltimore’s transportation networks. In the spirit of community, Black People Ride Bikes Inc. will be hosting a Community Information Session and Ride to bring awareness to the Lake-to-Lake Project.

This project focuses on improving safe access to Druid Hill Park/Lake and Lake Montebello. This project will install traffic calming at 33rd Street at Hillen Ave and along The Big Jump. This project will also include Right-of-Way Art Project that solicits community input on longer-term improvements in the Druid Hill Park Lake Drive Corridor.

This Community Information Session will be held prior to BPRB's Saturday regular scheduled Soul Food Saturday Ride led by Shaka Pitts and Nia Reed-Jones. Both Nia and Shaka are the Co-Founders of BPRB, avid cyclists, changemakers, advocates for cycling within underrepresented communities and believe cycling should be accessible for all regardless of race, age, gender, identity, ability or socioeconomic status.

The Ride

This group ride is a casual group ride for riders of all abilities. All are welcome. BPRB, in the spirit of community, hosts this monthly ride that ranges in length from 10-15 miles and ends at a Black Owned Business (Terra Café 101 E. 25th Street Baltimore, MD 21218) for food and fellowship amongst the riders. This is a “No drop” ride and is so youth and beginner riders are encouraged to attend. This ride will start at Lake Montebello, Ride through Druid Hill Park and End at Terra Café.
*This ride will have some climbing so a geared bike is recommended.
