Want to ride your bikes as a family around the city but not sure how? Trying to figure out how to transition your kids to their own bikes? Want to connect with other families that also ride in Baltimore?
Join us at the Baltimore Family Biking Open House! We will have volunteers who are bringing along bike seats, cargo bikes, e-assists, and kid bikes of all sizes and can answer questions about everything from rain gear for toddlers to bike-friendly routes to local parks and playgrounds.
This event will be held entirely *outside* at Peabody Heights Brewery so we can all stay safe while sharing information on biking with kids and families this fall. The brewery will be open, so you can use their restrooms indoors and/or grab a drink!
We also encourage families to check out the Charles St. Promenade during the day as well! From 9am-3pm, a portion of Charles St. will be closed to car traffic, prioritizing the movement of people walking, biking, and using mobility devices. Check out the local businesses along the road, and ride up to Peabody Heights to join us! We have a suggested route available.
If you’re a family that bikes and are interested in volunteering to show off your family bike set up, get in touch with us. Please contact Eli Pousson at eli.pousson@gmail.com with your name, neighborhood, and what type of bike you're riding! If you have friends or family who may be interested in attending, please pass along the date or stay tuned for more details coming soon.
Organizations and businesses tabling include:
Baltimore City Department of Transportation (they’ll be bringing a safety rodeo!)
