From the organizers New Auchentoroly Terrace Association and TAP Druid Hill:
Help identify opportunities for improving pedestrian safety and access around Druid Hill Park! The New Auchentoroly Terrace Association, Mondawmin Neighborhood Improvement Association, and TAP Druid Hill invites residents living on the west side of Druid Hill Park to participate in a set of pedestrian safety walks. Walk in community while identifying opportunities for making our streets safer, especially for seniors and children on foot, wheelchair, bicycle, and e-scooter. This walk will focus on the blocks between Gwynns Falls Parkway and Liberty Heights Avenue.
Auchentoroly / Mondawmin Pedestrian Safety Walk - North Blocks
Saturday, July 27, 2-4pm
Rain date: Sunday, July 28, 2-4pm
Meet in front of Ms. Sandra Almond-Cooper's house
1644 Gwynns Falls Parkway
Elected officials and city agency representatives are also invited to participate in the walks. Residents will have the chance to identify where crosswalks are needed, speeding cars should be slowed down, intersections made safer, and possible locations for new pedestrian entry points to Druid Hill Park. TAP Druid Hill will combine resident observations and ideas into a report for the Baltimore City Department of Transportation. This report will be considered as part of the forthcoming Druid Hill Park Complete Streets design effort beginning this fall. In addition, TAP Druid Hill will use the report to follow up with city agencies to advocate for immediate action to improve pedestrian safety between Druid Hill Park and Mondawmin Mall.
